I LOVED playing memory card games with my sister when I was a kid! The delight of ‘knowing’ where the matching card is, is etched deeply into my ‘memory’! You’ll really enjoy playing this with your kids, and if your child has a friend around or you have kids fairly close in age, they will love playing with each other! Memory and matching games are interesting for all ages. They help develop visual skills, spatial memory and recognition of shapes, sizes and objects. So, we decided to create cute animal and object picture memory games, for this FREE Memory Game Activity for Kids!
Check out the cute pandas, foxes, owls, fruit and ice cream!
In case you haven’t played before:
- The objective is to collect the most pairs of cards.
- Shuffle the cards and lay them on the table, face down, in rows.
- The youngest player goes first. Play goes in a clockwise direction.
- On each turn, a player turns over any two cards (one at a time) and keeps them if the cards match
- And, that player gets another turn!
- When a player turns over two cards that do not match, those cards are turned face down again (in the same position) and it becomes the next player’s turn.
- The trick is to remember which cards are where.
- The person with the most pairs at the end of the game wins.
And there you have it! Awesome for a quick game in the Summer holidays, and I guarantee they’ll want to play it again and again, and delight in getting better at it! Don’t forget to pin to your boards of Kid’s Activities. Happy Holidays!
