All the text is editable so whether you want it to be a detective party, secret agent party or spy party you can change the direction and details as needed.
Tips for planning a detective party
Now let’s unpack this theme a little with a few ideas on how to plan a detective party for your pint-sized PI’s.
- On arrival, issue each “detective” with an identification badge they can clip on to their clothes.
- Send them to a station where they can add fingerprints to their ID card as well as an official agent code name.
- Next allow them to choose from spy equipment and disguises such as toy guns, wigs, glasses, moustaches and briefcases you can find at the dollar store or thrift stores.
- Gather them all for the briefing of the case – good ideas include locating stolen presents, a scavenger hunt for stolen jewels etc.
- Prepare some clues and plant them at each location so the mini detectives can work together to solve the case!
Some other fun detective party activities include:
- an agent training obstacle course before the scavenger hunt to prepare the little spies for their important task which could be a string maze set up in a hallway to help prepare them for dodging laser beams/alarms when on the job.
- a game of Cluedo (a who-dunnit murder mystery board game)
- photobooth styled as a mugshot station, complete with chalkboards they can hold up with their “conviction” (e.g. “candy smuggler” “serial cake eater”)
This is such a fun party theme that will be the talk of the class for a long time to come and one that will go down in the books as one of your child’s most memorable parties.
