Firework Cupcakes Recipe 4th July

To make these, I used by fail-safe, fool-proof, go-to-anytime vanilla cupcakes recipe. It results in soft, fluffy vanilla sponge. Along with my ultimate butter cream icing recipe. ALWAYS a winner on the taste front! A little bit of food coloring, some innovation here and there, and the result is these firecracker cupcakes. For the firecracker, you can either be all super-crafty and make them yourself, or pop out to the store and get some pretty party poppers (small ones are best) in appropriate colors (and possibly a bit of gold or glitz) for the 4th of July theme! Up to you!

If you happen to have some glitzy gold foil and wide straws, maybe some star stickers lying around then it’s super-easy to make these ‘firecrackers’.

Using the gold foil paper, cut into four thin strips and place one on top of the other. Then, fold in half and twist the bottom at the fold and tape in place. Wedge this base into a trimmed paper straw. Place into the centre/ off centre into the cupcake. Boom, there you have it! Hip Hip Hooray! Happy 4th of July y’all!
