My little Hannah turned 8 in August… this was much to my horror as to how time is such a thief, and I feel like I just gave birth to her, but I am finding this happening more and more as my girls get older!  At the same time, there is so much joy in how they are growing into their own little people with so much personality! With my Hannah’s birthday around the corner, it came time to asking what sort of party she wanted.  The first answer was a Bunny party, to which I reminded her that we did that last year!  She is bunny mad, she loves EVERYTHING bunny related!  So, I gave her a few days to think about it.  A few days passed and she jumped in the car after school and said, “I’ve got it Mommy, I know what party I want!’.  I braced myself to what was coming next, “I would like a DJ Disco Bunny Party.” What was I to say? It is her day after all, her celebration.  So, we threw Hannah a DJ Disco Bunny Party for her 8th Birthday.

With planning a DJ Disco Bunny party, I tried to focus on a few elements and grow from there; sparkle, disco balls, DJ headphones and a bunny.  Hannah loves girly colors, so pink, purple and turquoise did the trick and we were good to go.  With the invitation I did have my Hannah peeking over my shoulder and checking it was just what she was thinking, so in the end I created something she was really happy with and got her so excited for her party… and that is what it is all about for them!

We started off with the backdrop of a pink sequin fabric to enhance that element of the disco ball and the fun reflections it creates.  Complemented by the purple disco ball that we enlarged to place on the backdrop for a fun element and this definitely help create the wow-factor of this party table!

To also break the pink backdrop, I did a Birthday name banner for Hannah in purple and turquoise to add some interest and depth of color.

A nice little touch that we always add onto our party table is food labels.  Not everyone does these, but honestly, it is such a nice touch and also if you have any kiddies or parents with food allergies, it at least gives them a heads up.

We also love to use theme related words in the naming of the food as a fun little touch to the party theme.

DJ Disco Bunny Party Cupcake Toppers

Adding cupcake toppers and cupcake wrappers are such a nice pop of color to a table, and I know my Hannah always likes to see her age and name on all the toppers.  It is all those little things that makes your little one feel special on the day!

We had little bags of Candy floss, which I know in some places you call it cotton candy, but in South Africa we call it Candy Floss, so hence the name on the tag.  But, this tag is fully editable, so you can change it to any text you like.  You can even move all the text around and create it into a party favor tag… there are so many options!

With all the sugar that we had on this table we thought it would be a good idea to balance it out with a bit of a savory snack for the kiddies too, and since my Hannah LOVES popcorn this was the perfect fit.  We found these clear containers at our local baking supplier and then just ‘popped’ (see what I did there – mom jokes are bad too)… one of our editable sticker labels on it to customize it to the theme.

Custom water bottle labels are always a popular touch to any party décor.  And I must admit, after jumping on a jumping castle and eating lots of popcorn, it was a very popular choice for the kiddies.

A fun little added touch to the party was VIP Pass lanyard cards for the girls, it makes them feel like it is a real disco party!

As party favors I wanted to send the girls home with a non-candy favor.  I found these cute bunny pens at the local dollar store, popped them into these editable cards and they made lovely, unique favors to send all of Hannah’s party guests home with.

Then there was the cake.  This is always their big moment… when everyone sings to them, the center piece of the party.  This is a basic vanilla cake, with white buttercream and an abundance of pink, purple and turquoise sprinkles, finished off with our printable cake topper and a few disco balls for good measure!  It made my Hannah smile, and that for me, is the perfect measure of a successful party!

Hannah had the most wonderful day and it was so special that she got to have her birthday party on her actual birthday this year.  As you can see from the picture, my little bunny Hannah was thrilled with her party.  I hope we have given you some fun ideas to help create the same magic for your little bunny!
