Can you believe it’s already April?! Where on earth have the first few months of the year gone?! We don’t know about you, but we LOVE April! If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, Summer is so close you can taste the ice cream cones and feel the beach sand between your toes. Here in the Southern Hemisphere, Autumn settles in and there’s a crispness in the air, a welcome respite from a hot and humid season! On top of a change of season, there’s Easter to look forward to, the tastiest holiday of the year for sure!

April Fools Day
April 1st starts with April Fool’s Day, a day filled with pranks and practical jokes. While there’s no need to embarrass anyone and certainly not endanger anyone with your pranks, some light-hearted fun can go a long way on April Fool’s Day.
Give your kiddos a laugh by popping this funny prank into their lunchboxes. Fill a bag with Otees and pop one of our free treat bag toppers on top to seal the treats in. The treat bag toppers say “donut seeds” as a tongue-in-cheek way of pretending Otees may just turn into donuts… if only, right?!

Easter Brunch
Most families enjoy some kind of gathering on Easter, whether it be brunch, lunch or tea. We love a good brunch because who doesn’t love cake for breakfast? From hot cross buns to carrot cake, we love brunch food and we’re not ashamed to admit it! If you’re setting up a beautiful Easter brunch, pop our gorgeous Easter cake topper on top of your cake to add some Easter pizzazz. The topper features a floral bouquet, bunny ears and watercolor banner.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter egg hunt is the highlight of the day for most kids! I mean, what’s more exciting than racing around the garden to fill up a basket with chocolate deliciousness? We have all the Easter printables you could ever need to make this year’s Easter egg hunt unforgettable.

Easter Baking
Baking is definitely up there as one of our favorite Easter activities to enjoy with our kids. While baking with little ones can be a messy exercise, there’s always beauty in the chaos! Whip up a few batches of some of your favorite Easter recipes. Our include these delicious carrot cupcakes and of course, mini hot cross buns slathered in butter. Stretchy pants are most definitely needed.
Decorate Easter Eggs & Easter Crafts
We love to take any opportunity to do craft projects with our kids. It’s a great way to stimulate their creativity while giving them something tangible to show off and be proud of. A favorite in our households is of course the classic Easter egg decorating. Poke holes in regular eggs, drain and rinse them out and they’re ready for decorating. Set out some paint, glitter and other crafting items to give your kids creative license for decorating their eggs.

Egg and Spoon Races
The egg and spoon race isn’t only reserved for school sports days, it can be a fun family activity to enjoy together! Break up into teams or race against each other depending on your family size. Pop an egg on a spoon and see who crosses the finish line first with their egg still intact. We’ll leave it up to you whether the egg is yolk or caramel centered…
Leave Treats For The Easter Bunny
Much like leaving treats out for Santa on Christmas Eve, you can also leave something out for the Easter bunny the night before Easter. Buy a special plate for the Easter bunny and leave out some carrots for him to munch on when he visits. Don’t forget to hop on into the living room and take a bite or two out of the carrots to make it look like he visited while the kids were sleeping! This is also a good spot to place the first clue card if you’ll be going the scavenger hunt route for your Easter egg hunt.
Pin The Tail On The Bunny Game
If you’re getting together as a family on Easter, it’s fun to start a tradition of playing a few Easter themed games. 2 April: Peanut Butter and Jelly Day – as a long-serving lunchtime staple, it’s no wonder this beloved sandwich gets its own special day. It goes without saying that today, the order of the day is most definitely PB & J for lunch.
3 April: National Chocolate Mousse Day – this rich, creamy and airy treat makes a decadent dessert so serve it up as a post-dinner surprise.
5 April: National Caramel Day – Clearly April is the month of celebrating all things sweet! If you’re not brave enough to get a little messy and make your own caramels, the store-bought kind will most definitely do the trick.
7 April: National Beer Day – do you love sipping an ice cold beer on a warm day? Then you’ll love Beer Day! For the adults in the family, set up an at home tasting of some of your local craft breweries best brews.
