How fun and colorful are these Tie-Dye cupcakes? Such an easy concept and so much fun to do! Doesn’t all this color make you want smile just looking at them?

We just used a basic vanilla cupcake recipe for the base which I will give you the details for below, it is delicious and super easy… you WANT to give this recipe a try! Trust me!!!  To create the colorful tie-dye icing effect we just did a very easy hack… as at the time we did the tutorial we realized we were fresh out of clingfilm to do that Multicolored Icing Clingfilm hack that everyone talks about online… so we did something else and hoped it would work. And it did, whew! This effect does not give you a perfect rainbow, as we did not want that. We wanted more of an irregular blend of colors, that is not perfect – as that is what tie-dye is so here it is…
1. Mix up 4 different colored icings, but leave some white icing aside and we will use this later.
2. Take your piping bag with the nozzle in and you are ready to go.
3. Now it is time to add your icing colors. If you are looking at the round opening of the piping bag, put a vertical stripe of each of the colored icing on the side of the piping bag – from the piping nozzle to 3/4 of the way up the bag. For example work your way around the round opening – orange at 12 o’clock, then pink at 3 o’clock, purple at 6 o’clock and then blue at 9 o’clock. Once you have added the colors, fill the piping bag in the middle with your left over white icing.
4. Now twist your icing bag closed and get icing, and let the icing do the rest of the work!
