HOW cute is this Superhero Cape? And what kid could resist it? Being a Superhero, flying around, saving the day and defeating baddies is a childhood rite of passage. It just HAS to be done!!! Don’t you think? We created a FREE Superhero Cape pattern for you, so you can whip up this baby yourself. Or maybe even two or three, great for playdates, siblings, a lovely DIY gift. Verrrrrrry useful, this baby!
How does it work?
You WILL need a sewing machine for this one. Or a nice friend or family member with a sewing machine. BUT, it’s not difficult at all with this pattern, and all the instructions are included in the download! You need to print onto an A2 or ANSI C sized paper – standard 80 or 90 gsm paper will do the trick nicely.
Fabric-wise, the sky is the limit! Use any spare or offcuts you might have OR you can look for fabric similar to the one shown in the photo. This is a cotton fabric with a waxed finish, which gives it that shiny, superhero-y look! For the lightening bolt, I found some gold foil type fabric, cut out the shape and glue gunned it on the back of the cape for some extra VRRRROOOOOM.
