Is it just my perception or does EVERY boy go through a dinosaur-mad phase? It’s just a ‘thing’, the fascination with the giant creatures of yesteryear, and of course, their giant eggs! So, if your sproglet is in his ‘dinosaur-phase’ then you’ll be wanting a dinosaur themed birthday party! And we have some cool options for your Dinosaur Party invitations. One of my favorite is a Dinosaur Egg invitation – a cool box, with some rustic moss and an exciting Dinosaur egg inside, and inside the egg? The party invitation!

Dinosaur Egg Invitation Tutorial

It’s cute and exciting and fun to open up, and is really easy to put together.

You will need:

  • Some small boxes, either cardboard or plastic, with or without a lid (you’ll see we did ours without.)
  • Brown paper
  • Plastic eggs that split into two
  • Spraypaint in your chosen colors
  • Some real or fake moss or wood wool for filling the boxes

Cover your boxes in brown paper, then fill the boxes with your mossy filling. Lightly sand your plastic eggs with a fine sandpaper (to help the paint adhere to the egg). Grab your spray paint and paint your plastic egg. You can go a solid color, like we did with the gold egg, or give a couple of coats of white paint and then ‘splatter’ on some blue. Then you will need to wait for your eggs to dry. In the meantime, download and edit your dino invitation here.

You can either print at home if you have a color printer, or take along to your local print shop.

Once your eggs are dry and your invitations printed, pop an invitation inside each egg, close it up and nestle it in its box, ready to surprise and delight the lucky invitees!
