I have LOVED Etsy for many years! Long before I even thought of opening a shop on Etsy, I always felt so inspired by this online space and would regularly make purchases from a variety of shops.
Eventually I felt the nudge to start a shop of my own selling digital party sets and scrapbooking paper. Looking back to the start of Sunshine Parties, which was in 2011, we had so much still to learn. And we are still learning, but we LOVE it. We have realized over time that you don’t one day arrive and go aaah great, now we’re doing well and we can relax a little. After 85 000 sales, we can safely say that we have learnt SO much about selling online, we have learnt that what may work for others doesn’t work for everyone and what works one day may not work forever. Helping other Etsy shop owners improve their businesses may seem counter-intuitive but for us, the idea of sharing knowledge to those that seek it, is a real privilege.
