Lou’s eldest son, William, also celebrated his birthday in February, turning 8. To mark the occasion, Will was dead-set on an Indiana Jones party to match is adventure-loving personality. We happily went along with Will’s party vision and created a brand-spanking new Indiana Jones Adventure Party set of printable party décor to help out all the other mom’s with adventurous boys!

Besides the snacks and drinks, Lou did not buy a single thing for Will’s party! Making use of our Indiana Jones party printables, everything else was stuff she already had or borrowed from friends. It just goes to show, you really don’t need to spend a fortune on kids parties and can still create a ‘wow’ effect no matter your budget!

Indiana Jones Theme Party

As you’ll see, this was a very bright and fun set up that featured tropical leaves and earthy tones to create that exotic adventure feel. The hessian backdrop is a party staple we’ve had for years! You can pick up a roll of hessian cheaply from most fabric stores and because of its neutral color, it’s so versatile. If you regularly throw parties, we also suggest you invest in good quality black and white tablecloths that you can use no matter the theme.

We grabbed the tropical leaves out the garden and pinned them to the hessian to create the jungle adventure vibes. The birthday banner is included in the set and the letters can be edited to your child’s name or to say ‘happy birthday’ etc.

We all know Indiana Jones is set in an ancient jungle featuring ruins and Aztec artefacts. We made Will a birthday cake that resembles an Aztec temple, making the steps out of chocolate bars. The flames and coin cake topper are all part of the Indiana Jones printables set.

The Indiana Jones party printables set also includes some directional signs you can pop onto a wooden board. They are editable but we took inspiration from the Indiana Jones movies and named them things like ‘rattle snake river’ and ‘fossil dig’ but you can make these your own depending on what activities you’ve got lined up for the little adventurers!

The Indiana Jones party printables set includes printable cupcake wrappers and round toppers. The toppers feature Indiana Jones hat, binoculars, rattles snakes and tropical leaves – everything your adventurer will encounter on his expedition! We used paper straws to pop them into chocolate cupcakes.

We had a little fun coming up with Indiana Jones inspired food labels including naming lollipops ‘poison darts,’ gumballs ‘snake eyes’ and coin chocolates ‘lost ark treasure.’ The labels are editable so you have free reign to get creative and come up with your own names for whatever snacks you set out for the boys!

Indiana Jones loves a good fossil dig so we had to include fossils somehow…enter fossil cookies! We do love these ‘fossil’ cookies we made for the party, that are in fact packed with chocolatey goodness! They were such a hit, we’re sharing the recipe with you below…

Bake until golden brown and firm in centre, 25-28 minutes. Transfer cookies onto a wire rack to cool.

The boys loved the Indiana Jones inspired scavenger hunt we arranged for them. The printable scavenger hunt list includes tokens with the items they need to find printed on to them so you can decide whether you want to have them find the tokens or the actual items listed.

We always like to send the kids home with a little token of thanks for being a part of the birthday celebrations. For Will’s party, the favor tags feature palm leaves and a rattle snake. We attached them to a packet of gold chocolate coins so they could take their Indiana Jones adventure back home with them.

And to end off this post, here’s the adventurous birthday boy enjoying his cake as everyone sings Happy Birthday to him. That right there, moms, is a face of pure joy! Mission accomplished!
