It’s that time again…just as the Christmas trees and wreaths have been packed away, out come the pink and red chocolate hearts and over-priced candy staring me down every time I go do my groceries. I don’t know about you, but the teddy bears and sugar-laden treats don’t really do it for me. What’s Valentine’s Day really about? Letting those you care about know how much they mean to you. Showing love and kindness. That’s why this year, I’m declaring Valentine’s Day a candy-free holiday, and if you’re feeling the same way, you’ll love the ideas we’ve put together. The best part? They’re kid-approved and there’s not a candy in sight!

1. Kids Valentine’s Day Classmate Card

One of my favorite non-candy Valentines Day ideas for kids are these adorable Valentine’s Classmate Cards. They feature a heart-shaped maze with a sweet and simple “you’re a-MAZE-ing” note because we love a good pun. Simply print out the card design, let your child decorate it (we’re not opposed to a little sparkle around here), then write their name at the bottom (or you can add it in when you edit the card in Corjl). Add a sweet message on the back if you’d like, then cut along the two cut lines to make holes to pop a pen or crayon through. This is just so cute and such a fun way for kids to personalize their Valentines this year!

2. Valentine’s Day Word Search Classmate Card

A Valentine’s Day Word Search Classmate Card is a great way to let your child’s classmates know just how much their friendship is valued while also providing a fun activity to do. Just edit the template in Corjl by adding your child’s name, print them out and attach a pencil crayon and let your child’s friends do the rest!

3. Kid-Friendly Valentine’s Day Cards and Tags

Skip the sugar this Valentine’s Day and opt for one of these kid-friendly Valentine’s Day cards and tags. These cute and creative ideas are sure to put a smile on your little one’s face – and they’re way more fun than a box of chocolates!

Valentine’s Day is all about spreading the love, so what better way to do that than with a homemade card or tag? If you’re short on time (or patience), simply print out one of our pre-made cards included in our pack of Valentine’s cards. There are 26 variations to choose from so you’re spoiled for choice.

Each one lends itself to a non-candy treat, so for example, if you use the “you make my heart roar” card, sticky tape a plastic toy dinosaur to it. For the “you make my heart jump” version, we opted for a slinky because let’s face it, a slinky is a hit all-round (even for adults…what is it about them?!).

4. Kids Valentine’s Lunchbox Note Cards

These cute lunchbox cards are perfect for slipping into your child’s lunchbox as a special Valentine’s surprise. They come in 4 designs and can be personalized with a special handwritten note on the back.

5. Kids Printable Valentine’s Placemats

I love to whip up a special meal to enjoy together as a family on Valentine’s Day. So if you’re also on the hunt for something special to add to the table, look no further than this printable kids Valentine’s placemat which includes a maze activity and list of things you love about your child! All you need is a printer and some construction paper or cardstock, and you’re all set. Simply edit the name and 10 special things you love about your little one and then print out. Your kid’s can use markers, crayons, stickers, stamps, or whatever they like to complete the activity. Once they’re done decorating, place the placemats on the table for a fun and festive Valentine’s Day meal!

For The Teachers

Our kid’s teachers hold a super special place in their lives because they’re developing young minds! So come Valentine’s Day, they also deserve a little treat.
