Who doesn’t love a good freebie? Especially when it comes to planning a kid’s birthday party, there’s no better time for a free goodies! Here at Sunshine Parties, we’re all about making mom’s lives easier with ready-to-print party invitations and décor. So, we’re super excited to be giving away a FULL set of party printables for one of our most popular party themes – our Shabby Chic Princess Party Theme – to all our subscribers, both new and existing!
The freebie includes invitations, party favors and food table printables to bring your daughter’s princess party dreams to life! We had so much fun creating a mock-up of this party theme and hope you’ll be able to draw some inspiration when it comes to putting together your own shabby chic princess party.
First of all, the essence of a “shabby chic” theme is to make use of what you’ve got or visit thrift stores. For example, perhaps you’ll get some floral fabric for tablecloths from the dollar store or use your grandmother’s china tea set as decorations. Shabby chic is all about bringing together an array of different textures, colours and patterns so don’t be afraid to mix and match when it comes to the set-up.
But before we get to décor, let’s start with the invitations. We have designed super girly shabby chic invitations to get you started. They include a scattering of polka dots and roses as well as some shabby chic bunting to inspire your décor.
Next, there’s a shabby chic “happy birthday” banner to string up that’ll get the festivities going. We made the bunting pictured with fabric from the dollar store and some string. The tablecloth is also just a piece of fabric we picked up from a fabric thrift store.
Depending on how crafty you are, the paper fans, flowers and pom-poms can either be made from tissue paper or bought from the dollar store.
Now for the sweet treats and snacks! The set comes with a number of different toppers like these sweet cupcake toppers and swizzle stick flags. Simply glue onto skewers or paper straws. As you can see, to create varying heights on the table, we wrapped boxes in pretty gift paper to place items on. Again, assorted pretty serving platters, domes and cake stands go a long way in creating the shabby chic look.
Now a princess party isn’t a princess party without food fit for a princess! We came up with a few cute ideas the birthday girl and her guests will love! When it comes to the birthday cake, a bright pink strawberry-flavored sponge would be divine, complete with classic vanilla frosting. Top it off with the bunting cake topper that comes with the set.
Add a little more sweetness with some of these tasty cake pops covered in pink chocolate. Decorate with doilies and you’ve got “flower blossoms” (of which the cute label is part of the prize).
We just LOVE the idea of these “princess crown” ice-cream cones which will go down a treat with the girls.
There is also additional signage to pop onto the snack table including “rose buds” for pink meringues, “cottage delights” for pink Turkish delights and a “Chantilly candy” printable you can customize chocolate bars with.
One of the best features of the shabby chic princess party set is the favors! We thought it would be such a fun take-home momento for all the girls if they each got a jar with ingredients for “princess cookies” inside. Or for a less fussy option, wrap some candy in floral/spotty fabric and finish off with these “thank you” tags.
