How delicious do these Valentine’s Heart Cookies look? It is so special to make a Valentine’s treat yourself – and these Strawberry Valentine’s Cookies are easy and oh-so-pretty. You can bake some with the kids, give them to teachers for Valentine’s gifts or just have some on hand for tea on Valentine’s day!
You will need a round, scallop-edged cookie cutter and a smaller heart-shaped cookie cutter to get the shapes right. And besides the ‘main event’ cookie, you’ll have just as many plain heart-shaped cookies too! Cute, cute cute!

Pretty Valentine Cookies with heart-shaped cutout and strawberry jam.
Ingredients
- 9oz (250g) butter
- 11oz (300g) caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 22oz (620g) cake flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 3 Tablespoons Strawberry jam
- Icing sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add the eggs, one at a time.
- Add the vanilla, flour and salt.
- Mix until just clumping and then form into a ball by hand.
- Place in cling-wrap, and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
- Dust your work surface with flour and roll-out your cookie dough.
- Cut out with a scalloped cookie cutter.
- Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut a heart into half of the round cookie shapes
- Bake at 356 °F for 8-10 minutes until the edges are just starting to turn golden. Allow to cool.
- Dust heart inset tops with icing sugar
- Place a teaspoon of strawberry jam in the center on the plain scallop
- Sandwich a heart and a plain scallop together.
- Store in an airtight container.
